ArmInfo. Yesterday, on December 12, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received Ambassador of Lithuania Inga Stanyte-Tolockiene. Greeting the guest, Avinyan expressed confidence that the activities of the new head of the diplomatic mission will create fertile ground for the further development of Armenian-Lithuanian relations.
Inga Stanyte-Tolockiene thanked for the reception and stated that she would spare no efforts to bring relations between the two countries to a new level. She said that after the "velvet revolution" relations between the two countries have improved markedly and in order to facilitate reforms in Armenia, Lithuania is ready to provide technical support.
Tigran Avinyan emphasized the importance of developing trade and economic relations between the countries and, in this regard, highlighted the activities of the Armenian-Lithuanian intergovernmental commission, the next meeting of which is scheduled to be held next year in Vilnius.
Tigran Avinyan also spoke about the strategy of reforms underway regarding public administration. It was a question of digitizing the Public Administration, which the Prime Minister's office is directly involved in. Taking into account the positive experience of Lithuania, Avinyan expressed interest in exploring the possibilities of cooperation in the field of public administration reforms in terms of digitalization of processes and procedures. The interlocutors discussed issues of cooperation in the fields of IT, alternative energy and waste processing. It was said, inter alia, about the possibility of direct flights Yerevan-Vilnius.
