ArmInfo.Based on the results of inspections at the Karen Demirchyan Yerevan Metro CJSC, the State Control Services under the Prime Minister of Armenia revealed violations of 1.2 billion drams.
According to the press service of the National Audit Office, the efficiency and legality of the financial and economic activities of the department was studied. As a result, systemic violations were identified in the procurement process. The total abuse amounted to 1.2 billion drams.
In particular, it turned out that funds were allocated for the repair of wagons, the life of which had expired long ago, while modern wagons could be purchased with these funds. In addition, with the representative office of a Russian company in Armenia in 2016, an agreement on repair work was concluded. The company did not fulfill its contractual obligations, or did not fully fulfill it, but the work was accepted and the corresponding payments were made.
Without any procurement procedure, the Metropolitan made purchases from three Russian and two Georgian companies in the amount of AMD 674 million. The market value of the purchased goods is 247 million drams, while 511 million drams were paid for them. And the old and used air distribution and control devices cost the Yerevan Metro 3 million drams.
