ArmInfo. The President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan received the world famous violinist, laureate of numerous prestigious awards, including the  Grammy Award Maxim Vengerov and artistic director, chief conductor of  the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia Sergey Smbatyan.

It should be noted that the 7th Aram Khachaturian International  Festival will begin on December 14 with a joint concert of the State  Symphony Orchestra of Armenia and Maxim Vengerov.

Welcoming the guests, the President noted that he was glad to see his  old friend and famous musician in Armenia again. Highly appreciating  the work of Maxim Vengerov, President Sargsyan noted with  satisfaction that the Armenian public will again have the opportunity  to enjoy the high art of a violin virtuoso.

Sergey Smbatyan considered one of the most important achievements of  this season that, according to the memorandum signed with the State  Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, Maxim Vengerov will perform in the  2019-2020 season. as a resident artist of the orchestra.

Maxim Vengerov, expressing gratitude to the president for the  reception, spoke about his close ties with Armenia and emphasized  that these ties are further strengthened each time you visit Armenia.  He touched upon cooperation with the State Symphony Orchestra of  Armenia and upcoming joint programs.
