Armenian Minister of Defense and head of ICRC Yerevan office  discussed issues related to the return of citizens of Armenia to  their homeland

ArmInfo. The chairman of the commission, dealing with prisoners, hostages and missing persons, Armenian Minister of Defense David Tonoyan met with a delegation led by the head of the Yerevan office of the International Committee of  the Red Cross (ICRC) Claire Meitro.

 As reported to ArmInfo by the  press service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Tonoyan pointed  out the importance of cooperation with the ICRC and joint efforts for  the final resolution of the problems of RA citizens who are out of  freedom and their speedy return to their homeland.

The interlocutors also discussed issues related to clarifying the  fate of persons missing as a result of the Nagorno- Karabakh  conflict, and a number of issues related to the interaction of the  ICRC office and the commission dealing with prisoners, hostages and  missing persons.

It should be noted that today Karen Ghazaryan, Araik Ghazaryan, as  well as NKR citizen Samvel Baghdasaryan, who was sentenced to a long  term of imprisonment in the Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, are in  Azerbaijani captivity.
