ArmInfo. On December 9, the court granted the prosecutor's motion to recuse the judge of the Court of Appeal Mkhitar Papoyan.
To recall, he considered the complaint of the lawyers of the former president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, protesting against the court decision of November 7 on the refusal to change the measure of restraint from arrest to bail. It should be added that the basis for the petition of the prosecutors was the recording of one Facebook user, according to which judges David Grigoryan and Mkhitar Papoyan participated in the drafting of the decision to release Robert Kocharyan from arrest. The NSS is engaged in verification of this information; Papoyan himself calls it slander.
Earlier, Kocharyan criticized the motion to recuse Judge Papoyan, saying that the goal for it was to neutralize, as he put it, unpredictable judges for certain individuals investigating specific criminal cases. Robert Kocharyan is being accused in the March 1, 2008 case.
