In the series "Presidential Concerts", which was initiated by the President of the Republic Armen Sargsyan, on December 6, a concert called "Gyumri, my love," dedicated to Gyumri, was organized at the Presidential Residence. The concert was attended by figures of science and culture, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia, guests from regions of the republic.
According to the press service of the presidential apparatus, the concert was a tribute to the victims of the 1988 earthquake. Before the concert, those present honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.
Students of Gyumri music and art schools performed classical, gusan and folk songs.
At the end of the concert, President Sargsyan thanked for this unique and beautiful day on the eve of the anniversary of the earthquake. "This is a beautiful day because our children, their parents, grandparents, once again proved that love, dedication, hard work, a positive attitude are much stronger than indifference, laziness and weakness. They once again proved that life is stronger than death." - said the president. Wishing success to the talented children from Gyumri participating in the concert, the President expressed confidence that they would continue the work of their parents, preserving their spiritual and national values, cultural heritage. "I am sure that each of you has a proud heart of the Gyumri, and I want you to experience this pride and love for your city, your region, your faith, your homeland and people all your life," he languished.
After the concert, guests had the opportunity to see the exposition of Gyumri artists, opened at the presidential residence.
