Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Academician Ruben Safrastyan, expressed this opinion during the International Conference on "The autochthonous peoples of the Caucasus-Caspian region in the light of scientific realities and falsifications" held in Yerevan.
"Such states lay in the foundation of their own domestic and foreign policy a similar phenomenon as falsification of history. The most important thing is that such regimes falsify, mutilate and distort not only their own history, but also the history of other peoples and nations of our region," he said.
In this light, Safrastyan described the forum ""The autochthonous peoples of the Caucasus-Caspian region in the light of scientific realities and falsifications" as a scientific process capable of identifying and pointing out all the weak points of a pseudoscientific approach to history based on falsification of facts at the most representative, high level.
The academician emphasized the uniqueness of the event that started, emphasizing that within two days the results of unique studies will be presented and discussed at this platform in Yerevan. First of all, documents about the history, culture, and other features of the indigenous peoples of the region. In particular, those peoples who are deprived of such opportunities in the territory where they now live, namely in Azerbaijan.
Scientists from Armenia, Iran and Russia speak at the International Conference on "The autochthonous peoples of the Caucasus-Caspian region in the light of scientific realities and falsifications" held in Yerevan on December 6-7. In general, in addition to the representatives of Armenia, the event is attended by over 20 scientists and public figures from abroad, including representatives of the indigenous population of the Caucasus-Caspian region.
