ArmInfo. In connection with the upcoming leave of Judge Anna Danibekyan from December 10 to 30, the next hearing in the case of Kocharyan and others is scheduled for the first working day of January 2020.
In this regard, the lawyers of the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan requested to appoint another meeting by December 10 to present the application for release on personal guarantee, however, Danibekyan offered to provide time for the preparation of the application today.
Hayk Alumyan noted that they cannot prepare a petition today. The lawyer asked that the meeting be scheduled for Monday, but the judge said that she had already scheduled other meetings.
<Therefore, the next hearing will be scheduled for the first working day of January 2020>, the judge explained.
In turn, the lawyer of former Minister of Defense of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan, Karen Mezhlumyan submitted a motion to terminate the criminal prosecution against his client.
It should be noted that Seyran Ohanyan, who was being accused in the case on March 1, held the post of chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia in 2008.
The lawyer stated that the criminal case against Ohanyan should be terminated as well as the prosecution, since the act at the time of its commission did not qualify as a crime. It remained unclear to the lawyer what exactly the charge consists of, and from what moment the violation of the constitutional system occurred.
During today's hearing, the court also rejected a motion by the defense of former CSTO Secretary General, Yuri Khachaturov, demanding to remove restrictions on his border crossing.
The judge considered the application pointless, since the restriction on crossing the border was not applied either by the court or by the preliminary investigation body, however, Khachaturov himself claims that he could not go to Georgia, as he is on the list of "not allowed to travel abroad".
