ArmInfo.Naira Badalian. On November 27, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received US Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the USAID Mission in Armenia Deborah Grieser.
According to the office of the Deputy Prime Minister, noting the great importance of the consistent development of Armenian-American relations, Tigran Avinyan emphasized the importance of assisting the United States in the reforms carried out in Armenia. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the first meeting of the RA-US strategic dialogue, which took place this year, was a serious step towards raising bilateral cooperation to a new level.
Ambassador Tracy, in turn, noted that the US government supports economic and democratic reforms in the Republic of Armenia, the anti-corruption agenda and the republic's participation in regional security issues. According to her, having increased American assistance by 40%, they are ready to implement programs that stem from Armenia's priorities regarding reforms.
During the meeting, Deborah Grieser presented the programs implemented by USAID in Armenia.
The parties also discussed a number of issues related to reforms in public administration and justice. Touching upon the digitization processes, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that within three years it is planned to digitalize most of the services provided by the state.
