ArmInfo. The European Union contributes to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group to an exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Luke Devin, Deputy Director of the European Commission Directorate for Russia, Eastern Partnership (EaP), Central Asia, Regional Cooperation and OSCE, the European External Relations Service, said this at a press conference on the two years anniversary of the signing of Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU.
Thus, in response to a question about the attitude of the EU towards conflicts in the region, Devin stated that the EU is not interested in hotbeds of tension in the region and they are not their motivators. In this context, he recalled that it was the conflict that prompted the creation of the EU in the twentieth century. "We are for the peaceful resolution of conflicts, and contribute to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group in this direction," Devin said, recalling that an EU member state is one of the three co-chairs.In turn, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Avet Adonts highly appreciated the approach of the European Union in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "And the EU's approach is that it fully contributes to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs," the Armenian diplomat concluded.
