ArmInfo. No questions were removed from the agenda, including the issue of transport. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan stated this in an interview with reporters, responding to criticism against the city authorities, that they deviate from the 5-year development program of the city, including the issue of transport.
"Not a single question was removed from the agenda, I work on a daily basis to resolve issues of transport, elevators, I mean solving systemic problems. At the moment, the issue is being discussed that next year a certain batch of city passenger buses should already arrive in Yerevan to begin the process of replacing the transport network", Marutyan said, adding that the quantity and the cost of purchase of buses will be decided by the tender results.
However, Marutyan noted that the issue of replacing elevators and the transport system is not a matter of one year, explaining that it will take up to 4 years to solve these problems. In this context, the mayor said that as the life-cycle of many minibuses has ended, about 400 of them will be deducted from the balance of public transport. Marutyan noted that in total more than 1330 minibuses were registered in the capital, and 900-950 of them operate daily.
