ArmInfo. The issue of the resignation of Hrayr Tovmasyan from the post of head of the Constitutional Court has never been the number one task for us. President of the Armenian Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan stated this to reporters on November 14.
"This issue has never been for us either task number one or task number five," he emphasized. At the same time, Mirzoyan noted that he had not changed his opinion, and still believes that there is a crisis inside the Constitutional Court. "I insist on it," he said.
To recall, on October 14, the Constitutional Court rejected the consideration of the case of depriving Hrayr Tovmasyan of his duties on the basis of a statement from the parliament. Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee issued a statement about the factual evidence of abuse committed by Hrayr Tovmasyan during his tenure as head of the Ministry of Justice.
For its part, the Special Investigation Service reported that there is factual evidence that in March 2018, in the process of Gagik Harutyunyan's resignation as President of the Constitutional Court, officials, based on group interests, personally and also through non-officials committed an official forging to appoint Hrayr Tovmasyan to the post of head of the Constitutional Court. In fact, a criminal case was opened against usurpation of power, within the framework of which charges were brought against former Speaker of the Parliament Ara Babloyan and former head of the Parliament's apparatus Arsen Babayan.
