ArmInfo. The court hearing scheduled for November 11 on the case of former Defense Minister of Artsakh Samvel Babayan and others, was postponed to December 12. The decision was made taking into account the statement of the lawyer that he needed time to familiarize himself with the case file.
It should be noted that in June Babayan was released under the guarantee of a number of MPs from the "Tsarukyan" and "Elk" blocs. Previously, he was sentenced to 6 years in prison on charges of money laundering and an attempt to smuggle "Igla" MANPADS from Georgia into Armenia. The Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the first instance, and the Court of Cassation overturned it, referring the case to a new investigation.
Babayan himself did not admit the charges and stated that his case was fabricated for political reasons.
