ArmInfo.Bright Armenia faction officially nominated Haykuhi Harutyunyan as its candidate for the post of member of the Commission on Corruption Prevention. This was announced on his Facebook page by the head of the parliamentary faction, Edmon Marukyan.
To note, members of the commission are elected by the National Assembly by secret ballot. Haykui Harutyunyan is a lawyer and expert in the field of human rights protection, and since 2013 she has been chairman of the NGO "Protection of Rights Without Borders". For over 14 years, Harutyunyan has been developing her professional activities with local, regional and international organizations, which includes the experience of developing political documents in the field of the rule of law, justice and human rights.
As a member of the Chamber of Lawyers, A. Harutyunyan was mainly involved in strategic legal proceedings on human rights, including cases related to criminal prosecutions due to political opinions, as well as mass violations of human rights during rallies.
A. Harutyunyan graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Law with a degree in Leadership, the Rule of Law and Human Rights, and is a graduate of the Hubert Humphrey Program (2010-2011) and the Democracy, Development and Rule of Law program at Stanford University (2018) .
