ArmInfo. In accordance with the schedule of agreements, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Yerevan on November 10-11. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced this on November 8 during a weekly briefing.
"In Yerevan, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry will hold meetings with the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President. Planned talks with the Armenian counterpart, as well as laying flowers at the Eternal Flame at the memorial to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Lavrov and his colleague Zohrab Mnatsakanyan will participate in the opening of the exhibition dedicated to 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Russian minister will also speak to students and faculty of Yerevan universities, " Zakharova said, adding that it is planned to sign a plan of consultations between the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries for 2020-21.
During the talks, the ministers will discuss a wide range of issues of cooperation, including through the EAEU, CSTO, CIS, coordination in the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, BSEC and other international formats.
"The talks will also focus on regional security issues, including the prospects for a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. We hope that Lavrov's visit to Yerevan will give an additional impetus to the development of multifaceted and mutually beneficial Russian-Armenian allied interaction," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded, adding that additional and more detailed information about the visit will be presented a little later. She also informed that Lavrov gave an interview to the Armenian media, which will be published tomorrow, as agreed.
