Azerbaijani Defense Minister expects great efforts from France to  resolve Karabakh conflict

ArmInfo."Armenia's destructive position on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh  conflict poses a serious threat to regional security." The Minister  of Defense of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov made such an accusation  against Armenia during a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador  Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to  Azerbaijan, Zachary Gros.

At the same time, he assured that the solution to the issue was  "forcing" Armenia to fulfill the requirements of the relevant UN  Security Council resolutions on the basis of the norms and principles  of international law, forgetting to indicate that these resolutions  were adopted at the time of hostilities and were called upon to stop  the fire, and their implementation not intended for the period after  1994-95.

At the same time, he praised the cancellation by the relevant courts  of France of a number of, as he put it, the illegal agreements signed  between some cities of France and local authorities of Artsakh,  forgetting that all these agreements were humanitarian in nature and  aimed at the development of the NKR.  Hasanov also expressed hope  that France, as a co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group, will  make more efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
