ArmInfo.On November 4, Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament of Tajikistan Shukurjon Zukhurov, who is in Armenia as part of the official visit and events of the CSTO PA.
Welcoming the guest, Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia is interested in deepening the Armenian-Tajik relations in all directions, based on mutual interests and benefits. He noted that in the format of bilateral relations, the parliamentary component plays a special role, expressing satisfaction with the vigorous activity of the parliamentary friendship groups.
The NA Speaker emphasized the effective cooperation of the delegations of Armenia and Tajikistan in the international parliamentary structures, in particular in the IPA CIS and PA CSTO.
Zuhurov, thanking for the official invitation and warm welcome, noted that historically friendly relations exist between the Armenian and Tajik peoples. He praised the role and activities of the Armenian community of Tajikistan. The speaker expressed hope for deepening the considerable potential available in a number of areas, especially in economics, information technologies, as well as for establishing a cultural dialogue.
The parties emphasized the positive dynamics of the existing relations between the two countries and expressed hope for the rational use of economic potential.
The agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in various international formats was also discussed.
