Not wanting to violate the presumption of innocence of anyone, Pashinyan asks: "Do we really strive for a type of society where status relieves us of responsibility."
At the same time, Pashinyan listed a number of measures taken by his government headed by him to increase the combat effectiveness of the army. "I'm very surprised if you point to any Armenian government that has done more for the Armenian armed forces within 1.5 years," he said.
In particular, he noted that defense spending in 2019 increased by 26%, amounting to 313.2 billion drams. 2.1 billion drams of additional funds were directed to improving the conditions of combat duty of military personnel, in June-August 2019, the number of military units consuming solar energy increased by 5%, the number of armaments and military equipment increased by 5-10%, including funds defeats, the positions of the Armenian troops improved in five areas of the contact line, the number of modern surveillance equipment increased by about 10% on the front line. Until the end of this year, 30-35% of combat positions will be provided with drinking water. In addition, according to the state budget for 2020, financing of the military industry in Armenia will be increased by 114%. Pashinyan also touched upon the new system of food supply for military units, increasing the monetary allowance of military personnel and good indicators of conscription for military service.
