ArmInfo.Azerbaijan's statements do not contribute to natural negotiation progress on the Karabakh issue. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated this on November 1 in an interview with reporters.
He noted that from the Azerbaijani side, politics continues in the spirit of rhetoric and hatred. <The issue of reducing escalation at the border is extremely important. Of course, there are violations of the ceasefire, but, in total, we can talk about reducing these cases>, Mnatsakanyan noted.
The minister did not agree that there is no negotiation process at the level of heads of state. He drew attention to the fact that the meetings of the Foreign Ministers, as well as the ongoing work with the co- chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Andrzej Kasprzyk, are coordinated by the top leadership of the states.
According to him, for holding a result-oriented meeting at the level of the heads of Armenia and Azerbaijan, it is necessary to form an appropriate negotiation field. "This is a normal, natural process," he said, recalling that formally, Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev met in March in Vienna and in October in Ashgabat (as part of the Summit of CIS Heads of State).
<There is a certain dynamic in the settlement process, and I believe that we can move forward very quickly to achieve overall constructiveness. Any development can be, and there are very good ideas that can be implemented>, Mnatsakanyan emphasized.
He pointed out that on the part of Pashinyan a statement was clearly voiced about the desire for a solution acceptable to all parties - Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan. <In this regard, we continue to wait for equal statements from Azerbaijan. So far, we hear one-sided statements that do not meet our priorities and our concerns. This does not contribute to natural negotiation progress>, the minister said.
