Armenia and Turkmenistan discussed prospects for enhancing trade and  economic cooperation

ArmInfo. The Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Armenia in Turkmenistan Arshak  Gevorgyan and trade representative Karen Poghosyan met with t  Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan  Orazmyrat Gurbannazarov.

As the press service of the Armenian Embassy  in Turkmenistan reports, during the meeting they discussed prospects  for enhancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The parties  also touched on issues of increasing the volume of trade, opening  trading houses and giving a new impetus to direct business contacts.

To note, according to the statistics committee of Armenia, the  foreign trade turnover between the Republic of Armenia and  Turkmenistan in January-August 2019 amounted to $ 4.4 million with a  y-o-y decline of 79.4%, while exports increased by 45.4%, amounting  to $ 2.6 million, while imports fell almost twice and amounted to $  1.8 million.
