ArmInfo. On October 31, at a meeting of the Armenian government, it was decided to appoint Ararat Grigoryan as governor of Vayots Dzor region.
Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan presented the decision to the government.
Ararat Grigoryan thanked everyone for their confidence. "I am familiar with the problems of the region, I am sure that I will implement the government's programs in the region, and the standard of living of the residents will increase," he said. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Ararat Grigoryan on assuming office and wished him success.
It should be noted that Grigoryan was replaced by Trdat Sargsyan, who resigned amid the high-profile case of the fight, in which his assistant was involved and as a result of which the lieutenant colonel of the Armenian Armed Forces Ara Mkhitaryan was injured. It is no less curious that the newly-made head of the region is the lawyer of the former assistant to Trdat Sargsyan - Harutyun Grigoryan, the same one who is accused of causing serious injuries to the officer of the Armed Forces.
