ArmInfo. Russian customs officers at the Upper Lars checkpoint again "undermine"customs agreements under the EAEU, which, according to Article 81 (1) of the EAEU Customs Code, are required to expedite customs clearance of perishable products.
As the largest transport and logistics company of Armenia "Spayka" LLC reports, more than 16 days, Russian customs officers have been preventing the import of Armenian cheese and fresh agricultural products into the Russian Federation.
In total, several trucks of the company were detained at the checkpoint, in which, in addition to fresh agricultural products, there are 20 tons of high-quality blue cheese produced in Armenia. To expedite customs operations, the company timely provided customs officers with all the necessary documentation, including veterinary certificates, technical production conditions, etc. To make it even more convincing that the cheeses were actually made in Armenia, the company even provided video materials on the official opening of the enterprise for the production of blue cheese in the presence of the Prime Minister and the Russian Ambassador to Armenia. According to the company, blue cheese is a new product of the "Spayka" company, which in its technological conditions and quality is fully consistent with the products of the best European cheese makers. The company's investment in this production amounted to more than 15 million euros.
Blue cheese is a new product of "Spayka" company, which in its technological conditions and quality can be compared with the products of the best European cheese makers.
It is noteworthy that on the very first day the company informed the Ministry of Economy of Armenia about this problem, but the issue has not yet been resolved.
It should be noted that the Export Armenia Association of Experts has repeatedly raised the issue of lawlessness on the part of Russian customs officers at the Upper Lars checkpoint before the government. Such behavior undermines, discredits the very idea, the essence of the Customs Union as such. , the head of the Association, Emil Stepanyan, said in an interview with ArmInfo.
The Association offers the government to raise the issue of creating a separate "green corridor" for Armenian exporters. "We should all realize that correcting the problem associated with the Upper Lars checkpoint will reduce the cost of exporters for logistics, transportation time to the EAEU countries, which in turn will increase the competitiveness of Armenian products," he said.
