ArmInfo.Baku has responded to the adoption by the US House of Representatives of the Resolution on the Recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
The younger brother of Turkey, Azerbaijan, decided to support his older brother in difficult times for him, and issued a statement condemning the recognition by the American lawmakers of the resolution on the Armenian Genocide.
"Official Baku condemns the resolution of the House of Representatives of the USA No. 296 on the Armenian Genocide, considering it unfair and biased," said Hikmet Hajiyev, head of the department of international relations of the presidential administration of Azerbaijan.
According to independent observers, Hajiyeva did not take into account the fact that those states that are not convicted of mass atrocities and barbarism towards civilians, old people and children, mocking the corpses of the dead, and not promoting intolerance to other nationalities.
Moreover, the representative of the state, which at the time of the commission of these crimes against humanity was not on the world map, allowed himself to give a historical assessment of these events. "The events of that period should be evaluated by historians, not politicians. Armenia and the Armenian lobby turned the topic of the so-called genocide into an object of political bargaining. This is done in order to hide the crimes of the Armenians themselves in the South Caucasus and elsewhere. That is why the Armenians reject the Turkish proposal to create a joint commission to investigate the events of that time. Such an approach, attempts to falsify history and use historical events for political pressure are not acceptable, "Hajiyev said, expressing the baseless accusations against Armenia, apparently based on the experience of their own state, which has long falsified history, constantly expressing territorial claims against Armenia and Artsakh.
