As part of a working visit to Japan, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian today visited one of the largest world industrial and technological companies, Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd and met with member of the board of the Mitsubishi Group, Chairman of the board of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Shunichi Miyanaga.
"It is an honor to host you at our head office and talk about what kind of cooperation programs we can have," the Chairman of the company's board said welcoming the Armenian President.
He noted that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has become a shipbuilding company and today is the largest industrial and technological center.
Stressing that in a rapidly changing world, human thought, creativity and idea will be real values, Armen Sarkissian said that he wishes Armenia to become a scientific and technological hub in these processes.
According to him, a number of presidential initiatives are also aimed at this, the purpose of which is to develop the latest technologies based on artificial intelligence, big data management and mathematical modeling, and this is an area in which partners can be.
The interlocutors spoke about the interaction, about the possibilities of applying the advanced technologies of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Armenia, as well as the experience of the company.
Armen Sarkissian invited the management of the company to visit Armenia in order to get acquainted with the potential and cooperation opportunities on the spot.
As part of the visit, Sarkissian also met with the well-known Japanese Asahi Group food company CEO Akiyoshi Koji.
To note, Asahi Group is the leading beer and soft drinks company in Japan, which in recent years has also been actively involved in the production and processing of food products.
The head of the company told President Sarkissian about the main areas of production, cooperation with various markets.
One of the promising areas of cooperation between Armenia and Japanese companies, the president called the sector of processing, supply and food safety.
He noted that Armenia, as a member of the EAEU and closely cooperating with the European Union, can be considered as a trading platform and access to larger markets.
Sarkissian also stated that Armenia has a developed production of natural juices and mineral waters, and there is great potential for cooperation along this line.
