ArmInfo. Victor Mnatsakanyan, head of the Kentron administrative district, submitted his resignation. He announced this on his Facebook page.
In the text of the statement, Mnatsakanyan, in particular, noted: "A year has passed since I have served as the head of the Kentron administrative district. I took on this function at the suggestion of my friend Hayk Marutyan, a joint goal was an honest desire to develop our beloved Yerevan. One year is not such a long time to realize all our plans, but it was enough to understand the specifics of the center and its characteristic problems and develop the right strategy to solve them. Over the past year, while working with my team, these features have been fully taken into account. Now I want to declare that I filed a letter of resignation. I made this decision because I want to engage in an in-depth study of urban problems with the goal of making urban planning an integral part of our everyday life. I am sure that in this way I can be much more useful to my beloved city and country. This step does not mean at all that I am leaving the team of which I was a part and with which I had the honor to work. The decision to leave the post has no political motivation and is an exclusively personal decision. Let no one try to politicize this decision or weave conspiracy theories around it'', Mnatsakanyan noted in a statement.
The Kentron district head in his letter, also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, for his viable vision for the development of the country and the confidence shown.
Mnatsakanyan also thanked Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan, the chief architect Arthur Meschyan and the members of the Council of Elders for the joint work.
