ArmInfo.As part of a working visit to Japan, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian today met with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
The President of Armenia praised the recent official visit to Serbia and the practical agreements reached. He once again welcomed the decisions of the Serbian side to abolish the visa regime for citizens of the Republic of Armenia and the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Armenia, noting that these are important steps to strengthen relations between the two countries.
The President of Armenia and the Prime Minister of Serbia confirmed the agreements reached in Belgrade, in particular, touched upon the intention to hold the Sevan Startup festival in parallel with the annual EXIT music festival held in the Serbian city of Novi Sad.
The Serbian Prime Minister said that in the near future a Serbian delegation will visit Armenia to familiarize themselves with the areas of cooperation and possible programs on the spot. She also said that on October 25, in Moscow, she will sign an agreement on a free trade zone between Serbia and the Eurasian Economic Union.
"I'm glad that this will happen during the period when the Republic of Armenia presides over the EAEU," President Sarkissian stressed, expressing confidence that this will create new trade opportunities for Armenia and Serbia.
