ArmInfo. Former Secretary of the Artsakh Security Council Vitaly Balasanyan will not be summoned to the commission to investigate the circumstances of the April escalation in 2016. This was announced on October 17 in an interview with reporters by the head of the parliamentary commission on defense and security, MP from the My Step bloc Andranik Kocharyan.
He noted that Balasanyan could not be held responsible for the decisions made in the days of the April war, since he did not have the corresponding official powers. "The fact is that Balasanyan was not in the army control system at that time, since he had been demobilized for a long time. And the latter received the post of Secretary of the Security Council after Artsakh," Kocharyan noted.
After which, the MP also commented on the press conference of Vitaliy Balasanyan, and said that one should not pay too much attention to what was said. Kocharyan spoke very unflatteringly at the expense of the statement of the former head of the NKR Security Council that the latter provided all kinds of support to the army during the April war, and also participated in decisions on the redeployment of forces and delivering strikes on combat crews and enemy positions. "You all remember and understand that during the four-day war everyone provided support to our army, to the best of their ability. However, today no one advertises this, and does not try to extend their participation in the April war. Moreover, I don't really understand, how is it possible that a person who has left the army can give orders to army structures, and on what basis these orders were carried out? ", Kocharyan concluded.
