ArmInfo.Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in every possible way trying to justify Turkey's military invasion of Syria, today issued another odious statement that can only cause "laughter through tears".
Thus, speaking at a meeting of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), Erdogan lied without conscience, assuring that in no period in history has Turkey killed civilians, never carried out and will not carry out genocide. So, easily and by the way, Erdogan forgot about the Genocide of Armenians, Assyrians, Pontic Greeks and other national and religious minorities at the beginning of the twentieth century - these barbaric crimes that were recognized by several dozen states and a number of international organizations. He also did not talk about the extermination of the Kurdish population in northern Iraq in the not so distant past.
But this was not enough for Erdogan, and he, continuing to crumble in beautiful lying rhetoric, not seeing the logs in his own eye, eagerly pointed to a splinter in someone else's eye. "Whoever wants to see the massacre, let them look at Afghanistan, Nagorno-Karabakh in the Caucasus, Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Balkans. Those accusing Turkey of killing civilians have blind eyes, deaf ears and stone hearts," Erdogan noted, forgetting to indicate that it's really Nagorno-Karabakh, and not only there, was massacred by the younger brother of Turkey - Azerbaijan, and with the full encouragement and support of the Turkish authorities.
