On October 9-11, Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia Makar Ghambaryan took part in Russia in the first meeting of the CSTO troops (combined forces) working group on issues of material and technical support under the Council of Defense Ministers of the Organization. ArmInfo was informed about this in the press service of the RA Ministry of Defense.
The meeting, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Dmitry Bulgakov, was attended by deputy ministers of defense of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, head of the CSTO Joint Staff.
The meeting of the working group under the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CSTO member countries was held at the Mulino training ground near Nizhny Novgorod. The meeting was dedicated to equipment and material procurement.
According to Bulgakov, the CSTO priority areas for improving the organization of material and technical support of the CSTO Troops, the procedure for aerodrome maintenance and refueling of aircraft of the armed forces of the CSTO member states during regrouping and during joint operational and combat training activities with the Collective Rapid Reaction Command of the CSTO.
The meeting participants also examined the procedure for the accumulation, maintenance and separation of material reserves of the military forces of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces), as well as the issues of their transfer between the CSTO member states. They also discussed the progress of domestic approval of the draft Agreement on joint material, technical and medical support of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces).
