ArmInfo. The criminal case brought against the former head of the RA Ministry of Defense Vigen Sargsyan was sent from the prosecutor's office to the Investigative Committee.
Previously, it became known that the criminal case was sent from the Special Investigation Service to the prosecutor's office at the request of the prosecutor, who carries out appropriate supervision. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General, to continue the preliminary investigation, the case was then sent to the Investigative Committee, on the basis of the need for a series of judicial and investigative actions. Recall that Vigen Sargsyan goes through one of the criminal cases as an accused. According to the investigation, in January 2018, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia carried out the distribution of apartments in a multi-storey residential building in the Achapnyak district of Yerevan. Based on the current order, the central housing commission of the Moscow region should have allocated the living space, but 29 of 71 apartments were allocated not by her, but personally by the minister.
A criminal case has been instituted under Part 1 of Article 308 (Abuse of official powers) and under Part 1 of Article 309 (Excess of official powers) of the RA Criminal Code. The ex-minister himself completely denies his guilt.
