ArmInfo. Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Artak Davtyan provided a document regarding the whereabouts of the former Chief of the General Staff of Armenia, Yuri Khachaturov, in the first hours of the April 2016 Azerbaijani aggression.
Davtyan himself stated this at a press conference in Yerevan on October 8 when he answered the question that the media were circulating information that he had testified to the competent authorities, which indicated that Khachaturov was already at his post in 20 minutes.
"There was no testimony. A document was provided. It was a year ago. The document indicated what was in reality," Davtyan emphasized, noting that you can't just go and give evidence, because there is a whole chain where a person's movement is recorded, starting from the checkpoint to the duty officer.
"This is not my desire to say one way or another - everything is fixed," Davtyan emphasized, while refusing to go into the details of the contents of this statement.
Answering the question whether he participated in the meeting of the parliamentary commission to clarify the circumstances of the April events and how expedient it is to create, given that there are no narrow- profile specialists, Davtyan stressed that he was not invited personally to the meeting of the commission, however, he expressed hope that they would call.
At the same time, he pointed out the advisability of creating this commission, stating that if the political authorities made such a decision, then this is necessary.
It should be noted that during the days of the RA, Armenian media reported that Artak Davtyan, while testifying in the competent authorities, said that Yuri Khachaturov was at his combat post 20 minutes after receiving timely information about the large-scale military aggression of Azerbaijan against Artsakh , but did not play billiards, which has been stubbornly discussed for several years in the media.
