ArmInfo. The National Security Council of Armenia, in the framework of measures to combat drug trafficking, as a result of operational-search measures, uncovered a case of smuggling of narcotic substances on an especially large scale.
According to the press center of the National Security Council of the Republic of Armenia, a 23-year-old girl with dual citizenship (Armenia and Iran) tried to send 900 grams of methamphetamine to Australia in a mail parcel by hiding drugs in a ball of crocheted necklace. Drugs were impregnated with 8 cotton pieces of fabric. The parcel was delivered to the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia. In addition, during a search in the house of a citizen, as part of a criminal case, service officers discovered a curtain weighing 25 kg, the linen lining of which was completely saturated with opium raw materials. In addition, this material was further treated with coffee solution in order to prevent the detection of drugs. Discovered opium also had to be shipped to Australia.
During the search, a greenish mass similar to marijuana was also found in the house, "the RA NSS noted, informing that a criminal case had been opened in fact, the suspect was detained.
