The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan visited the farm of Tierras de Armenia CJSC ("Lands of Armenia"), owned by the National Hero of Armenia, Argentinean businessman of Armenian descent, philanthropist Eduardo Ernekyan. The farm is located in the village of Arevadasht, Baghramyan district, Armavir region.
According to the press service of the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan and Eduardo Ernekyan walked around the farm, visited vineyards and a winery. During the tour, the head of government was presented with technologies for cultivating and irrigating vineyards, grape processing and wine production. The Prime Minister also got acquainted with the harvesting process, met with pickers of grapes and talked with them.
After the tour, Nikol Pashinyan and Eduardo Ernekyan had a face-to-face conversation, during which they exchanged views on the progress of Armenia, economic development, implementation of investment programs and a number of other issues.
The head of government noted that he was impressed with the organization of the Tierras de Armenia economy. He praised the businessman's contribution to the development of the Armenian economy, the introduction of new technological and quality standards and a new culture in the field of Armenian winemaking.
Eduardo Ernekyan, in turn, expressed gratitude to Nikol Pashinyan for his high appreciation and noted that he was ready to continue investing and implementing new programs for the benefit of the development and economic prosperity of Armenia.
The Prime Minister of Armenia and Eduardo Ernekyan discussed the programs implemented by "Armenia International Airports" CJSC in RA. In particular, they touched upon the development of Zvartnots airports in Yerevan and Shirak in Gyumri, improvement of infrastructure, repair issues and further operation. The interlocutors also exchanged views on the implementation of other business programs implemented by companies in Armenia owned by Eduardo Ernekyan.
Nikol Pashinyan and Eduardo Ernekyan expressed satisfaction with the process of bilateral cooperation and bilaterally confirmed their readiness for further development of cooperation. Then the Prime Minister went to the city of Armavir, where, accompanied by the Governor of the Armavir Region, Ambartsum Matevosyan and the Mayor of Armavir, David Khudatyan, he walked around the city, got acquainted with the current situation and development plans of the city. Nikol Pashinyan also took a walk in the city park of Armavir and talked with the residents.
It should be noted that about 400 hectares of vineyards are cultivated on the Tierras de Armenia farm. Harvest is mainly used for wine production. The irrigation system is completely drip, the tractor fleet is equipped with modern technology, the number of main and temporary (seasonal) workers is 350 people. The farm grows 32 grape varieties - mostly international, but there are also local varieties. Half of the finished product is consumed in Armenia, the other half is exported to Russia, European countries, North and South America, Australia, China. This year, the company plans to increase exports to 700 thousand bottles of wine. The total land area of the farm is 2301 hectares, within the framework of which it is planned to implement development plans in parallel with an increase in production volumes.
Recall that in December 2001, the Armenian government signed with the Argentine company, Corporation America, owned by Eduardo Ernekyan, on concession management of Zvartnots airport for a period of 30 years. Later, a similar agreement was signed with regard to the Shirak airport. As of today, the total investment in the modernization of the two airports, according to the company, has exceeded $ 160 million. Corporation America Airlines, unites more than 30 airports in Latin America and several other countries of the world. Headed by Argentinean billionaire of Armenian descent Eduardo Ernekyan, the company is a concessionaire for two airports in Armenia - Yerevan "Zvartnots" and Gyumri "Shirak", which are managed by "Armenia International Airports" CJSC. According to the master plan for 2018-2022, the company will invest $ 38.2 million in the modernization of both airports.
