ArmInfo. The political and social forces of Armenia need to make every effort to way out of a difficult situation. This is stated in a statement distributed by the head of the "Vernatun" socio-political club Vazgen Manukyan.
It should be noted that Vazgen Manukyan is not only the first Prime Minister of independent Armenia, but also the current head of the Public Council of Armenia, and therefore the dissemination of the statement without mentioning his high public status seems to be at least a strange and inexplicable fact.
And, nevertheless, in the statement, in particular, it was noted that after the declaration of independence, the country was faced with many internal and external problems. Some of them were resolved, while the other part was not. Along with independence and victory in the Artsakh war of liberation, there were also omissions in the country - imperfect institutions of government, a distorted electoral system, social polarization and a lack of justice.
The current government, having public support for the implementation of reforms, went to the inefficient use of this resource and in a way contrary to its own. This path has led to a decrease in the security level of Armenia and Artsakh, and to the inefficient functioning of the public administration system. There is no vision of the country's development, there is no healthy political agenda and real programs of economic development.
Manukyan states that as a result of the policy pursued by the authorities, the negotiation process on the Karabakh conflict has reached an impasse, which has increased the likelihood of a resumption of large- scale hostilities, and foreign policy challenges have multiplied. Contrary to the promises of <love and tolerance>, the division of society into <black and white>, <ours- your> created an atmosphere of mutual hatred.
In his opinion, illegal attacks on the Constitutional Court, attacks on the judicial system, the use of double standards in investigative and judicial practice and selective "justice" lead to the establishment of monopolization of power. The trial in the case of "March 01" has passed into the political plane. "We think that political forces, including the government, public organizations and activists should make every effort to get out of this situation.
