ArmInfo. The opening of the 23rd World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT-2019) will be marked by a concert by an orchestra created on the eve of the event, which for the first time in history will perform music created by artificial intelligence.
This will be followed by a performance by the Grammy Award winner, the world famous Dutch DJ and music producer Armin Van Buuren. The concert will take place on October 6 at 8.00pm on Republic Square. Musicians of the orchestra are already arriving in Armenia, the main rehearsal of which will be held on October 5.
According to the WCIT press service, the orchestra unites more than 100 musicians from different countries, 30 of which are from Armenia. Other participants represent 14 countries in which the Congress was previously held: Canada, the Netherlands, Malaysia, the USA, Greece, Taipei, Spain, Japan, France, Denmark, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, India.
The concert will be led by Sergei Smbatyan, artistic director and chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia. The concert program of an unprecedented orchestra includes works symbolizing the aforementioned 14 countries, Armenian sharakans, a unique and distinctive genre of Armenian music. ''We initially sought to make the IT Congress in Yerevan unforgettable and significant. This is one of the surprises that we prepared for the international community to show the innovative thinking of the Armenians. As you know, the music will be written by artificial intelligence, which we call artificial talent. We prove that the center of the world is where there is talent and innovation, in this case, in the very heart of Yerevan, on Republic Square'', - said the Chairman of the WCIT 2019 Organizing Committee, President of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) and Ucom co-founder Alexander Yesayan. WCIT-2019 is expected to bring together more than 2,500 participants from 70 countries.
To recall, WCIT 2019 will be held in Yerevan on October 6-9, 2019. The congress is held by Armenia with the assistance and under the high patronage of the RA government. The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) was established by the World Alliance for Information Technology and Services (WITSA). Its main organizational body is the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE).
