ArmInfo. Former head of the Amulsar case investigation team, Yura Ivanyan, has been appointed head of the Department for Investigation of Corruption Crimes and Property Crimes of the Main Directorate for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
According to the press service of the IC, the head of the Department for Investigation of Corruption Crimes, Property Crimes and Cybercrimes of the Main Department of the Armenian IC, Yura Ivanyan was relieved of his post and was appointed head of the Department for Investigation of Corruption Crimes and Crimes Against Property of the Main Directorate for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Armenian IC.
As the head of the information and public relations department of the IC of Armenia Naira Harutyunyan said, Ivanyan was not appointed to a new position, but became the head of the reorganized management of the IC of Armenia. <The structure he just headed was divided into two departments. As a result of structural changes, the Cybercrime investigation department was separated into a separate structure>, Harutyunan wrote on her facebook page.
To note, the name of Yura Ivanyan began to appear in the Amulsar case after a second wave of dissatisfaction with the possible resumption of Lydian's work, in particular after the ELARD expert report and the statement of the Investigative Committee and the head of the Amulsar investigation team, who stated that there were minimal risks during the operation of the Amulsar mine.
It should be noted that after the information published in the media, it also became known that the Minister of Nature Protection, who in 2016 approved the reformed Amulsar operation project presented by Lydian Armenia, is a relative of Yura Ivanian. It should be noted that in 2016 Aramayis Grigoryan was the Minister of Nature Protection. On September 2, 2019, an official investigation began against the former head of the investigation group in the Amulsar case, Yura Ivanyan.
