ArmInfo. The trial of the events of March 1, 2008 lasts a very long time and is very dangerous. This was announced on September 27 at the press conference by the head of the "Sasna Tsrer" party Zhirair Sefilyan.
He noted that he has repeatedly stated that if the process continues at the same pace, this will lead to bloodshed. "Unfortunately, we witnessed a similar incident a few days ago. (Suicide of police chief commander Hayk Harutyunyan - Ed.) If you point out the criminals, but do not isolate them, they are trying in every possible way to hide the traces of their crime," Sefilyan said.
He noted that it is still unclear what happened two days ago, suicide or murder, but in this context there are more important details. "We must understand who needed Hayk Harutyunyan's death. It's obvious that it may be in interests of the fifth column, those who robbed our people for years, suppressed our people and then opened fire on them. The group's uprising was the answer "Sasna Tsrer." They realized that all attempts to suppress the Armenian people are in vain, "the party leader said.
Sefilyan also said that it was the Sasna Tsrer uprising that stimulated the start of the Velvet Revolution.
It should be noted that on September 24, information was received that the ex-chief of the Armenian police Hayk Harutyunyan was found dead in his detached house in Bjni. According to the preliminary version, he shot himself.
Harutyunyan held the post of Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia in 2003-2008. He was held as a witness in the case of the events of March 1, 2008. According to observers, Harutyunyan was dismissed as the chief police officer of the country due to the dramatic events of March 1-2, which culminated in the death of 10 people in May 2008. Later he was appointed head of the State Security Service, and two years later - in 2010 - head of the Punishment Service of the Ministry of Justice.
