ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, during a visit to New York on the sidelines of the 74th meeting of the UN General Assembly, held talks with OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger.
As the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia reports, the meeting exchanged views on cooperation projects between the OSCE Secretariat and the Armenian Foreign Ministry. Mnatsakanyan emphasized that Armenia attaches importance to cooperation with the OSCE Secretariat in various fields. The interlocutors touched on the possibility of interaction within the framework of the OSCE program "Project for Cooperation with Armenia", as well as the implementation of projects on all three OSCE planes.
At the request of the OSCE Secretary General, Mnatsakanyan touched upon the current state of the process for the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, in particular, spoke about the meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart on September 23 this year in New York.
The parties mutually positively evaluated the comparative decrease in tension in the conflict zone in recent months. The Minister emphasized that the Armenian side attaches the importance of permanent efforts to reduce tension and strengthen the ceasefire, including through the introduction and strengthening of appropriate mechanisms. The importance of successive steps towards the formation of an atmosphere of trust was also pointed out, including through the implementation of previously reached agreements.
