ArmInfo. An anti-corruption strategy and anti-corruption action program for 2019-2020 is presented for discussion by the Armenian government. Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Rustam Badasyan stated this on September 24 at the forum "International Correspondence of Corporation America and the Anti-Corruption Conference - 2019".
According to him, it is important for the government that there is political will in the fight against manifestations of corruption, as a result of which an anti-corruption committee will be formed in October, which is called upon to become the main authorized body in the fight against corruption. The committee will be delegated authority to analyze property and declarations of officials.
The Minister also said that another important field in the work of the executive body will be the creation of a legal anti-corruption body, which will include persons who have passed the integrity test. It is also planned to form a specialized anti-corruption body under the RA General Prosecutor's Office, which will ensure the legality of investigative measures. "We must not forget about the need to create an anti- corruption court," Rustam Badasyan added.
As part of the fight against corruption, it is planned to introduce an e-government system that will facilitate administration for business. "The government is working to create a register of true owners of companies. A number of international organizations have recommended the introduction of certain instruments in the fight against corruption in the private sector. I want to emphasize that their application will not interfere with business in any way, but, on the contrary, will facilitate the formation of the necessary investment climate." - the Minister emphasized, adding that business participation is very important in the institutionalization of the anti-corruption fight.
