ArmInfo. The State Revenue Committee of Armenia initiated a criminal case against one of the representatives of show business for illegal entrepreneurial activity and tax evasion in the amount of 21 million drams. This was reported by the press service of the SRC.
According to the source, given the relationship between the tax authority and the taxpayer, the SRC has repeatedly called on representatives of show business - singers, musicians and other people in this field - to go through state registration, register with the tax authority and make payments in good faith, paying taxes in the manner prescribed by the Tax Code. But today there are people who have not answered the Committee's call to declare income and pay taxes.
In this situation, units of the State Revenue Committee implemented tax control measures. It turned out that one of the representatives of Armenian show business in the period from 2017 to 2019 Having received commercial income in the amount of about 384.6 million drams, he did not register with the tax authority without paying a tax of more than 21 million drams to the state budget.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of illegal entrepreneurial activity by the 10th Directorate of the SRC. The State Revenue Committee once again urges show entrepreneurs to declare their income and pay taxes in the manner and terms established by the Tax Code. Recall that the head of the SRC of Armenia David Ananyan in September 2018 called on representatives of the cultural sector to pay taxes in good faith. Already in December, the SRC noted that illegal entrepreneurial activity leads to criminal liability. But, representatives of the Armenian "cultural establishment" not only ignored the appeal of the tax authorities, but some, in particular the "stars" of the local show business, expressed their indignation in plain text. Nevertheless, the tax authorities decided to work on creating a culture of paying taxes in the cultural sphere.
