ArmInfo.Armenia attaches great importance to high-level political dialogue with the European Union and a comprehensive partnership framework. This was announced on the eve of the meeting with Deputy Director General of the Directorate for Neighborhood, Enlargement and Negotiations of the European Commission Katarina Maternova, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, during the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia emphasized that Armenia highly appreciates the constant and consistent support of the EU in promoting the country's development agenda and strengthening the democratic institutions of the republic.
The parties emphasized the important role of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement as an important impetus for the development of relations between Armenia and the EU and EU member states. The parties exchanged views on the steps taken to implement the roadmap of this agreement. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Katarina Maternova discussed in detail the government reform program, the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy, as well as Armenia's views on current international and regional problems. The Minister highlighted reforms in the judicial sphere as a priority task of the government, noting that Armenia highly appreciates the expert support provided by international partners in this field. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership initiative, the interlocutors expressed their conviction that the Eastern Partnership is a good platform based on common values and principles of developing and strengthening cooperation between the European Union and the six Eastern Partnership countries. In this context, the parties also exchanged views on the concept of development of the initiative.
