ArmInfo. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia initiates the process of developing a clear state policy in the field of preschool education. At a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Armenian government approved a draft decision on introducing amendments to the law "On Preschool Education" on September 19.
As the head of the MONKS Araik Harutyunyan stated, presenting the draft decision, preschool education is of great importance in raising the educational level. According to him, various studies indicate that investments in the earlier development of children are most effective for ensuring the growth of the economy and society in the long term.
According to the minister, the project provides for the implementation of continuing education programs for teachers of preschool institutions, their certification, the development of a regulatory field for the functioning of these institutions, including the licensing of private preschool institutions. It is also planned to fix state guarantees, develop clear mechanisms for ensuring affordable and high-quality inclusive education for children aged 3 to 6 years. Issues of ensuring high-quality nutrition in the country's kindergartens will also be touched.
