ArmInfo. The court's verdict regarding the defense's request for the release of Robert Kocharyan on bail will be announced on the evening of September 20.
"There is not a single fact that can raise doubts about Kocharyan's intentions to hide from the investigation, hinder his progress, as well as any other similar acts. Today they are not presented to the court and cannot be presented," Khudoyan stated.
Robert Kocharyan also made a statement, joining the motion of his defense, recalling that he had never made an attempt to evade the investigation or the court. He spoke out in the sense that he and his other colleagues who are in the dock today, the people who created the Armenian army and all of them have nothing to fear, and that justice will certainly prevail. It should be noted that the court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan, chaired by Anna Danibekyan, decided today to leave former president Kocharyan in custody, thereby rejecting the request for immediate release from custody and the dismissal of the case.
According to Kocharyan's lawyer Hayk Alumyan, this decision will be appealed in the Court of Appeal.
