ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister met with a US delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Laura Cooper. As the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reported to ArmInfo, at the meeting Mnatsakanyan noted that strengthening and deepening friendly and partnership relations with the USA is among Armenia's foreign policy priorities.
The interlocutors agreed that this visit is a good opportunity to consider those ways that will maximize the strengthening and expansion of cooperation between the two countries in ensuring peace and global security, and solving regional problems.
The parties praised the continued cooperation between Armenia and the United States in the framework of the NATO Partnership for Peace peacekeeping mission and the Strong Assistance mission in Afghanistan. In this context, Mnatsakanyan confirmed the readiness of Armenia to continue and expand its contribution to the efforts of the international community to ensure peace and peacekeeping.
The Foreign Minister spoke about the foreign policy priorities of Armenia on issues of politics and security, the principled position and approach of Yerevan to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this regard, he praised the efforts of the United States and other mediating countries in the search for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
