ArmInfo.Former oncology adviser to RA Minister of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan, children's oncologist and hematologist Gevorg Tamamyan demands the resignation of a state official. He stated this on September 3 during the final press conference of the Minister of Healthcare, to which he appeared with a number of questions addressed to the head of the department, however A. Torosyan did not speak with his former adviser, and preferred to answer questions from journalists at the exit from the conference room.
After the minister left the conference room, G. Tamamyan substantiated his statement with a number of complaints and questions to A. Torosyan, to whom, as he noted, he had repeatedly tried to present these issues face-to-face, however, the minister in every way to avoid face-to-face meeting.
<You can ask any employee of the Ministry of Healthcare, in particular, employees who are closer to the minister, everyone will tell you with one voice that there is a mess in the ministry, "he stressed. G. Tamamyan noted that the Minister of Healthcare maneuvers quite well, presenting the situation to the public and members of the government in his own way. <As a citizen of Armenia and as a doctor who communicates with cancer patients every day, I have questions for the Minister of Healthcare. Consider this a question from an ex-oncology adviser that you couldn't talk face to face with. I asked the journalists to give me the right to ask questions, after which the minister, instead of answering, left the table and, standing in the corner of the conference room, chose to answer the journalists' questions. Firstly, the Minister of Health of Armenia should not hide, especially since this is done by a person who, in front of the cameras, figuratively speaking, brandishes a sword,> the former adviser said.
First of all, he turned to A. Torosyan with a question about how it is possible to put on the queue sick children with a diagnosis of a brain tumor. In this regard, he spoke about the situation in January, when the family turned to the Oncology Center, which, in turn, was asked to wait until November. <Minister, do you know what cancer is? Are you aware that during the time you called for putting cancer patients on the queue, you deprived people of a chance to live?>, G. Tamamyan asked questions. In this particular situation, thanks to the mediation of Deputy Minister of Healthcare Mrs. Avanesyan, the issue was resolved much faster. <And what about those people who do not have the opportunity to resolve the issue through the Ministry? And let him (the minister) continue to say that everything is available>, the oncologist expressed concern. In addition, G. Tamamyan raised issues related to the distribution of state orders, the composition of the Board of Directors of medical institutions of Armenia, among which, according to him, there are people close to the minister's circle. "Armenia does not need such a Minister of Healthcare, who hates all the successful doctors of Armenia and the Armenian Church, who lies to everyone, and escapes, becomes a corner. He cannot continue to hold this position. There are a large number of doctors held in Armenia. I trust the Prime Minister of Armenia, and I'm sure he will be able to make the right choice>, he said. To the question of journalists about whether he would like to take the post of minister or if he has someone in mind for this position, G. Tamamyan answered: "I am a doctor, and I am not going to interfere in political affairs, and I have no right to decide such kind of questions. I am an attending physician, not a politician; I do not need the post of Minister of Healthcare>. To note, this press conference was held at the HAEMATOLOGY CENTER AFTER PROFESSOR R. YEOLYAN. Head of the Department of Pediatric Oncology and HAEMATOLOGY CENTER AFTER PROFESSOR R. YEOLYAN Gevorg Tamamyan resigned as advisor to the Minister of Healthcare for Oncology on August 20. His accusations to the minister are reluctance to reform the healthcare system and deliberate obstruction of the efforts of specialists to improve the sphere.
