ArmInfo. In Armenia, an inventory will be made of products manufactured by the country's military-industrial complex for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia. The Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this on August 29 at a meeting of the RA Government.
According to him, within the framework of the new program, it will be necessary to draw up an approximate plan of needs of the defense department for the next five years. The work will need to be carried out in two directions - government and defense industry enterprises. The government, Nikol Pashinyan continued, will give priority to domestic producers, provided that there is an appropriate quality of products and a reduction in their cost. "There will be no compromises on the issue of product quality," the Prime Minister emphasized, pointing out in this context the need to develop concrete steps and a roadmap. "It should be a two-way road," the head of government said, expressing hope that with the application of tax benefits it would be possible to reach real calculations.
Nikol Pashinyan instructed the authorities in a monthly term to report to him on the work done in this direction.
To recall, yesterday at a meeting with members of the Union of Military Industrialists and heads of military-industrial companies, Nikol Pashinyan noted that in the economy and industry a key place will be given to the development of the military-industrial complex, provided that it must be technologically advanced and meet all modern technological criteria . "In the long run, we should also be able to produce competitive innovative technology," the head of the Armenian government noted. However, he emphasized that the military-industrial complex has several important meanings, and all of them are of a strategic nature. According to him, firstly, Armenia should have a strong military-industrial complex, and this proceeds from the security environment in which the country is located and the country's security needs, and secondly, it is the economic development of Armenia, the creation of new jobs, and the vector of ranking Armenia as a country with highly skilled workforce. "And the military-industrial complex is the field in which, starting with the simplest worker, high qualifications are expected. Of course, the export strategy is also important for us, and our external course should be such that the military-industrial complex of Armenia has the opportunity to work in foreign markets. And for a comprehensive solution to these tasks we have established the Ministry of High-Tech Industry in the government", he said.
