ArmInfo. In the near future, a new building of the Nork-Marash Medical Center will be built in Yerevan, Minister of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan announced yesterday during the visit to the center.
As the press service of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia reports, Arsen Torosyan noted that the Nork-Marash Medical Center is considered the cradle of cardiology in Armenia. Emergency, outpatient, inpatient and dispensary medical care is provided to children and adults. The center has a clinic of arrhythmology, which includes the entire list of high-tech services, including outpatient and inpatient. The medical center actively cooperates with foreign specialists specializing in cardiovascular diseases, who perform about 30 operations during each visit to Armenia.
According to Arsen Torosyan, the only problem is the patient capacity of the center, which so far remains at an insufficient level. Patients come, and there is not enough room for service. "We were informed that this year the municipality allocated an additional 70 million drams from the city budget for renovating and expanding service places," the minister said, adding that it is planned to build a new building in the future so that the center can accept more patients.
It should be noted that in early 2019, the Ministry of Healthcare signed an agreement with the Nork-Marash Medical Center, placing in it a state order worth 941 million drams, which was subsequently increased by about 800 million drams. The contract for servicing the state order concluded between the Ministry of Health and the center for 2019 currently stands at 1.74 billion drams.
