According to the results of the Ameriabank campaign, held jointly with the Visa payment system from June 13 to August 13, 250 cardholders of the bank  became owners of tickets for the Qualification match of the European  Championship - Armenia-Italy, which will be held on September 5 at  the Republican Stadium named after Vazgen Sargsyan.

Helen Danielyan, Head of the Department of Individual Banking  Services and Card Products of Ameriabank, noted that the campaign was  carried out in order to stimulate non-cash transactions. She  emphasized that the customers of Ameriabank were holders of Visa  Classic and Visa Gold cards, who carried out 15 non-cash  transactions, at least for 10 thousand drams.  "The stimulation of  non-cash transactions has always been in the focus of Ameriabank, and  as a result, the 

volume of non-cash operations with our cards exceeds the indicators  of the general banking system," the head of the department said.  Answering the question of ArmInfo, H. Danielyan noted that from a  quantitative point of view, 58% of Ameriabank's transactions are in  non-cash ones, while the general banking indicator is on average  42.7%. Regarding the volume of non-cash operations of the bank, she  noted that the share of non-cash transactions on average reaches 32%.  ''This suggests that the behavior of people is changing, and they  gradually begin to prefer non-cash payments, even in small amounts,''  she said, noting that non-cash transactions are helping to bring the  economy out of the shadows.  

''Therefore, besides this campaign we have carried out and will  continue to implement initiatives to activate non-cash transactions.  This is a common practice all over the world. Today, people  practically do not use cash. We hope that over time, such a culture  will spread widely in our society as well, "H. Danielyan concluded.

According to the 19th edition of the analytical review "Armenian  Banks in the Card Business", prepared by ArmInfo IC, as of April 1,  2019, Ameriabank had 119.4 thousand cards, most of which are  international with mostly Visa ones- about 83 thousand. By the number  of active Visa cards, Ameriabank is in the TOP- 5. The bank increased  their number in y-o-y terms by 52.3% or by 28.5 thousand units. As  regards plastic transactions, the bank also is in TOP-5, securing  210.3 billion drams in 2018. Ameriabank is the leader in the number  of its own POS-terminals - 2087 units with y-o-y growth of 24.4% or  410 units. Ameriabank is the leader in online card transactions - AMD  34 billion in 2018 with significant annual growth. The bank issues  and services both local ArCa cards and international Visa and  MasterCard cards.

It should be noted that Ameriabank has been operating in the Armenian  market since October 31, 1996.  The shareholders of Ameriabank on  July 1, 2019 are Ameria Group CY Ltd. - 56.53%, EBRD - 17.78%, Asian  Development Bank - 13.96%, ESPS Holding Limited - 11.73%. The branch  network of Ameriabank at this date has had 18 branches, of which 11  in Yerevan and 7 are regional.
