About 115 ha of vegetational cover burn in the Syunik region

ArmInfo. Extinguishing the fire that broke out on August 20 at 11:00 am near the reservoir of the village of Gekhi, Syunik Region, continues.

According to the Ministry of Emergencies, on August 22 at 05:00 am  the fire extinguishing work was resumed.

Two operational teams of the regional rescue department of the Rescue  Service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Armenia and two combat  crews of the fire and rescue unit left for at the scene of the  accident.

About 115 hectares of grassy area and 25 hectares of forested areas  (juniper, oak and shrubs) burn in the above territory.

The fire was localized at 1:37 pm. Duty was established at the scene  of the accident.  35 firefighters, 30 employees of the Kapan branch  of "Hayantar" SNCO, 20 employees of the Zangezur Biosphere Complex  SNCO, and ten local residents were involved in fire fighting.

On August 21 at 2:26 pm the fire extinguishing work was stopped. The  duty was established with the participation of 5 firefighters, 5  employees of the Kapan branch of "Hayanta"r SNCO, 5 employees of  Zangezur Biosphere Complex SNCO.  50-60 ha of grass covers burns: oak  trees, juniper bushes.  In addition, work to extinguish the fire that  broke out on August 20 at 09:16 am at the foot of Mount Ara of the  Kotayk region also continues.

Two operational teams of the regional rescue department of the life  saving service of Ministry of Emergencies and two combat crews of the  fire and rescue squad arrived at the scene of the accident.  

As of 6:30 pm on August 21, about 150 hectares of vegetation burned  in the above territory.  6 operational teams and 7 combat crews of  the regional rescue department of the life saving service of Ministry  of Emergency Situations, two rescue teams of the Center for Special  Rescue Activities (a total of 92 rescuers), 15 residents of the  village of Saralandzh, Kotayk region, 30 residents of the village of  Ara, 20 residents of the village of Zoravan participate in the  firefighting. and 15 residents of the city of Yeghvard, 20 residents  of the nearby villages of the Aragatsotn region and 18 forestry  employees.  

On the territory of Kotayk region, the fire swept vegetation with an  area of about 1300 hectares, and on the territory of Aragatsotn  region-500 hectares.  Yesterdau, 09:50 am, in the section leading  from the cemetery of the village of Zoravan to Mount Ara, a new fire  was discovered. The fire was localized at 6:15 pm, established  duty.
