ArmInfo.Modern technologies will be used in the forests of Armenia to detect cases of illegal logging.
According to the Ministry of the Environment, 10 sensory monitoring devices have been installed on illegal logging in the territories of Stepanavan Forestry.
<The equipment in a few seconds picks up sounds of an ax, chainsaw, fire or any other movements and sends GSM signals to a server, where a specially developed program delimits their character and transfers the coordinates to the systems registered in the network to telephones and computers that protect the forest>, explained in ministry.
Depending on the landscape of the forest, devices can protect territories with a radius of 2 to 10 km. The program is pilot, and after successful testing and filling in the gaps will be expanded. The manufacture and maintenance of the aforementioned devices called Forest guard was provided by Hi- Tech Gateway Vanadzor Branch.
